Battling the Dragon with Athena` Sword

I have been off my Blog for quite sometime. Some of you do not know this, but i suffer from Chronic clinical Depression and anxiety disorder. Although my meds do work wonders, I do have the occasional relapse and nothing in particular sets it off . Last April the Dragon once more came and took me to that dark place.

Its hard to explain to someone what depression entails, most do not understand it and reply with comments out of ignorance. Such as, * What do you have to be depressed about* or * snap out of it, get out of the house* * Its all in your head. ect.. The simple matter of fact in this, is there is NO particular reason that can send me on downward spiral. could be because its raining, could be because the wind blew the wrong way. Its just the way it is. A chemical imbalance that creates this disastrous disease, and it is a disease.

I stayed in that dark place until June when my Doctor upped my meds, and made a few positive chances in my life and am well on my way back. In fact i haven't felt this good in 10 years.!

I moved 5000 miles across country to Victoria B.C with No possessions, i sold all! i brought my dog , my cat, clothing and some cherished books , and my jewelry studio supplies.

I am finding that here on Vancouver island, i am delighted to see the sunlight, mountains and oceans. They have inspired me to create again, and working with my crystals and stones is tremendously healing and soothing.

I re-read books that revisited me to my spirituality and the goddess i love so deeply.

When i came back to creating, and re-opened my Etsy store and website, got a little more involved on my facebook page, and interacted with other strong women who inspire me, i was lifted back into the light.

My loyal customers to my surprise, where waiting for my return and welcomed me and my new designs with delight and encourement. I can see i am blessed !

I decided to borrow and channel the strength of The great warrior Athena and her sword, and battle this dragon, and become a dragon slayer.

I have adjusted my blog, added some new features, and will now blog faithfully as a way to heal and channel the positive energy from my fellow sisters in Goddess.

I have added a few new sections and updates.
Once i am so excited in, is the Women who inspire me. In this section, I will choose a women who has inspired me, and are the movers and shakers , visionary s and trail blazers of today's feminist movements. I will be conducting interviews, and discussing thier achievements and tips to better your womanhood and reclaim your divine feminine. I am very excited about this project. !

Another sections is * Book Reviews * I am an avid, insanely addicted reader, and will share reviews of books i  enjoyed to enhance today's woman and the goddess movement.

And last but least,Product Reviews I will be working with and seeking Pagan and wiccan and goddess movement artists and reviewing their products and working with them on give aways !

So , follow this blog, its going to be a fun ride !

Blessed be )0(

Goddess Diana and Reclaiming Your Inner Goddess

The last few nights and naps i have had dreams of the goddess Diana. I saw moon crescents, silver and felt a wonderful energy, i have also felt the need to create this week using her as my inspiration and Muse.
After a few dreams, that i c'ant make to much sense of, because they are just bits and pieces and symbols, i started to wonder what Mother God is trying to tell me, and what i may have in common with the Diana aspect of the goddess.
Then it hit me like a Mac truck in the face, lol, sometimes we just do not see what is right in front of us.I have no children, was the first thing that popped in my head, now unlike Diana i am not a virgin at 42,lol but, i was never blessed with children of my own, and i am definitely not going to start now, once i saw one attribute of the goddess in me, the others followed and flowed freely.Diana was considered to be a Moon Goddess, I am a total Moonchild, born a cancer, with the moon in cancer, i am so effected by the moon its crazy.Like Diana, i have had no children and at my age i am starting the * change * of a womens  life from mother to crone, my cycles are totally out of wack and come and go as they please, oh  how fun,lol

I see Diana as a strong aspect of th goddess, she is a warrior, a huntress, protector of women, children, animals and the underdog.I am the  same in many ways, I am a warrior in the sense that i battle lifes issues head on and i will  *always find a way to get there from here *,I am fiercely protective of those i love, and especially women, some would call me a feminist, i wouldn't agree with that,i just think that women have been suppressed way to long and we must rise up to raise the goddess energy up .I am also an avid animal lover, picking up every darn stray around, i have 4 cats and 4 dogs, and enjoy every one of them.

Another aspect of  Diana i have in common with her is, i do not need a man in my life. Don't get me wrong here, they are great,  but i am not lonely for one, i do not need one,and my life will not be of a lessor quality if i do not have one at my side.I am quite an independent person, being that i enjoy my time alone, to read, make crafts and jewelry, meditate and chant, and  do magic and meet and support women and witches from all over.

So as you can see, what started out as not understand or * assuming* that I and Diana had nothing in common, turned out to be quite a bit.So after reflection on this i believe my dreams of Diana where trying to tell me to:

 * Recognize my inner Goddess.*

With that being said.:

Diana is a fitting goddess for the modern women Diana was protective and supportive of women. She abhorred the patriarchy as much as the patriarchy despised and felt threatened by her. Diana was always rooting for and aiding the underdog. One can see the Diana archetype breathing through every woman who knows her own power but does not wield it in a power-hungry way, who needs to do things her own way, not because the status quo deems it so, and who has empathy, compassion, and a tenacious protectiveness towards those who are vulnerable - be it pregnant women, children, animals or nature. Diana inspires us to be independent, strong, to trust our instincts & intuitions, and to love and understand the wild and vulnerable around us and inside us.

I challenge you all today to find an attribute you have in common with the goddess and honor her IN you, in some small way, some ideas may be:
Wear a Moon Crescent crown
Light a silver or white candle, with some incense.
Take a bath with some sale and oils by candle light only and bless yourself.
Place some small object on your altar that honor her and you.
Wear a Moon Necklace
Encourage a female friend.
Adopt a pet.

Here is my tribute to Diana today. Diana's Moon Necklace.
Blessed be !

Honoring the Goddess Gaea

The devastating disasters of yesterdays events in Japan, have reaffirmed that Gaea must be remembered and honored more often. The day prior to these events ,i had been feeling the mothers energy's and crafted some pendant sculptures from clay to start on creating a Gaea Jewelry Line.

When i awoke to hear the news of the events that rocked Japan, i instinctively knew why i was feeling her, and why we as witches and spiritual beings must listen to out intuition and pay attention to signs the mother is sending.

Gaea is ill, she needs us to restore harmony and balance.
How can we do this ?,you are probably wondering.
Magic of course,:) We are witches and do practice magic for a reason.
There are many ways to raise Gaea's energy, a few easy and simple ones may be.
Lighting Green candles in her honor.
Putting fresh Greenery or flowers on your altar or sacred space in her honor.
Use crystals for the healing vibrations of the mother earth.
Try your hand a little crafting, clay is a great item to honor her with, sculpt something in her honor, it doesn't have to be grander or perfect, remember magic is in intention.
Wear colors and gems to honor her.
Read a poem, chant a chant or sing a song.
Take a walk and touch her tree.s and plants, and feel her heart beating in the earth beneath your feet.
For city witches, you can make a potted plant ensemble, with various plants, and fun dangling things, in a Terracotta  holder, you can even paint her colors on the pot.
What ever your way to honor her may be, there isn't a right or wrong way.
Your thought forms alone with raise her energy.

My honor to Gaea Today is a set of 3 pieces of jewelry i crafted.
I made them of clay, with colors, texture and form resembling the earth.
They can be found in my Etsy shop for sale

THE TRIPLE GODDESS

THE TRIPLE GODDESS

As the Maiden, I saw through your eyes as a child
Spring rains, green forests, and animals wild!
I saw you run freely on the Earth with bare feet!
I watched as you danced in the winds, blowing free!
I was there as you grew, getting stronger each day!
I brought you rainbows, chasing grey skies away!
I was there in your laughter - I was there in your tears!
I was the acceptance you gained from your peers!
I saw your first love and I felt your first blush,
As passion first stirred in the night's gentle hush!
I am there with you always in the fresh morning dew!
I bring you the crispness of beginnings anew.

As the Mother, I bore all the labor distress
Of birthing your child, and I felt the caress
Of your hand on the face of the new life so dear.
I heard its first cry, and I eased your fear!
I provided the milk which you fed from your breast
Till the baby grew strong, and with health it was blessed.
As she took her first step, I was there in your smile!
I was there while you nurtured your beautiful child!
On the first day of school, when the doors opened wide
I was there in your fear - I was there in your pride.
I am there with you always in the bright full of moon!
I bring you fertility - abundance in bloom.

As the Crone, I brought blessings of wisdom with age
[Wisdom not found by the turn of a page].
I was there as you taught the correct way to live:
To love and to trust - to take and to give!
I was there in the twinkle of your aged eye!
I was there in your thoughts of the years flying by!
I was there when you taught the Mysteries of old!
I was there in the fire warming you in the cold!
In the weariness of age, I was there with you, too...
I brought well-deserved rest and peace unto you!
I am there with you always in the darkness of night!
I complete your life cycle, guiding you toward the light.

Maid, Mother and Crone - We are all One -
Yet We are all separate, as each role is done.
We do not leave you - We're always there
As you walk through this life with your worries and cares;
As you dance in the spiral, We live inside -
Deep in your spirit - where nothing can hide!
No matter your path, no matter it's length -
We give you courage and We give you strength.
We are there to support you every hour of day
And deep in the night, when dreams take you away.
Our gifts We give freely, for you are our Child...
Yes, We are the Lady: Wise, Pure, and Mild!
-Kalioppe-

Here is my tribute to the triple goddess today.
enjoy.

HonoringThe Three Fold Goddess & The Law of three

The number three is everywhere in witchcraft. It is one of our most powerful and sacred numbers.
Not surprising if you think about it, as through out time the number 3 is always mentioned, in any belief of religion.Ex: Good things come in three, Deaths come in three, Father , Son and the Holy Spirit, even interior designers create design scape's using the number three, grouping of vases and candles, ect.
In Wicca and Witchcraft, the number 3 is sacred, we learn at the very beginning in our first degree the law of three from the Wiccan Rede.* Ever Mind The Law Of Three, What you put out comes back to thee *
The number three though, for me, represents the 3 aspects of the goddess, The Maiden, The Mother, The Crone.
The 3 phases of a women s life, as she goes from learning to wisdom and knowledge of the mysteries. I see the Goddess  all around me, in symbols, her beauty on the earth, her magic in the stars and her mystery in the Moon.
Her love and gracious bounty all around me. I am in true essence , A Daughter Of Gaea !

So needless to say this evening, still feeling the effects of The Goddess s magical full moon last night, I was inspired to create pieces that honor her.
The first creation i made was a Rosary, some may think Rosary's are too christian, but i say hey, they stole enough from us in old pagan ways why not  return the favor, ! LOL
I love rosary's ! They are elegant, Fashionable, Classic, and definitely mystical and Magical !
Of Course, I make them the Pagan way, ahaha. :)

Honoring the Goddess i created a lovely and classy rosary necklace , using the Celtic triquetra as my inspiration, The 3 fold knot, representing the 3 fold goddess, and the 13 beads in sets of three s, representing the goddess in her 3 forms and the 13 Moons of Her year. The Celtic trinity or triquetra Knot is as old and mystical as they come !The stones i used where Garnets and Black onyx, it gives it that touch of magic and mystical appearance.I really enjoyed making this Rosary and am curious, who is going to own it :)
If you can share any ideas you may have on Rosary's, please share them, ! Id love to use your ideas, and put them into life !
Here is my Finished result,You can click it to see my Etsy Listing.
Blessed Be !
May the Goddess Keep you warm and safe !

Amulets Vrs Talismans, What are they ?

There is much speculation on the difference between an amulet and a talisman. It is proven through out history that amulets and talismans where an important part of most cultures, from the ancient Egyptians , Old world Witchcraft, Folk Magic,The Catholic church. Most cultures and civilizations believed that symbols, stones and trinkets could bring good fortune, and protection.

The difference between the 2 is not quite agreed upon, however in my magical practice and the teachings i follow, the difference is thus :
An Amulet is something that is worn on the body, most times in the form of a jewelry item, incorporated into a necklace or some piece of attractive jewelry.

A Talisman is something that is fashioned with a specific intent and carried, ( usually in a pouch ) , hung on doors, walls, cars.on the bed post, wherever the desired magic is to be drawn.

It is my belief that are most effective when hand crafted as opposed to the highly available mass marketed copy's , although some carry attractive designs, they are not individually made with specific intent. I d/ont know about you, but i am so bored with seeing the same ole, same ole, wiccan & Pagan items everywhere.Seems like every store on the Internet and eBay has all the same. How Drab !!

A hand crafted amulet or talisman as opposed to a mass production carries a powerful punch of energy !
For me , when making my amulets and Talismans, the magical intention of the piece starts with the idea, which immediately transmits the energy into the piece i am working on. I then incorporate appropriate materials that correspond to the magical intent into my design, along with symbols of the same.
My favorite materials to work with  are crystals, The colorful and magical wonders are so energetic and fascinating

This full Moon ,I spent my evening making a batch of amulets, i lit my candles and yummy incense *(Pagan Spell *) OMG, smells sooo good !Created my sacred space with lovely chants playing and let the energies of the magical hunters moon carry me into creative bliss.
I am quite happy with outcome, i created some lovely and stylish amulets. I then smudged them and hung them on the tree outside under the moon for cleansing.
Ready for you to wear and experience the magic!
You can see them all in my Etsy shop.
Tell me which is your favorite !!!
